Reading API documentation is a bit of a black art. I feel a lot like a caveman with an exploded view of a volkswagen and an intricately detailed index, trying to find the bit that I turn to make it go.

Fireworks CS3 offers some good tools for site prototyping: a library for elements (preset and custom), and master pages and multiple pages that can be clicked between with hotspots.

Emma Cott wants to create a QRCode of your online Flickr, Facebook, or other social profile, and print it on a sweater or other shirt for you. An interesting approach, but the site keeps breaking for me in Firefox

Rails 2.0 changed the Rails workflow significantly. This is a quick introduction to the new workflow and scaffolding, in contrast to the “depot” application in the Pragmatic Programmers’ “Agile” book.

Rails is pretty much set up for you in 10.5, but mysql is, inexplicably, missing. So you have to either compile from source or use MacPorts. I use macports, but I don’t like it.
